The under floor heating has been installed by our expert team at a bungalow renovation in Tavistock. The Uponor under floor heating system uses 16mm PEX pipe clipped to insulation distributed from an 11 port manifold. Heatmiser controls provide local management. The system is supplied from a Thermia G2 6kW ground source heat pump with 150L Joule buffer tank and 87m vertical borehole at 35C. This combination designed by ourselves, optimises efficiency, reduces running cost and increase the domestic RHI payments.
As part of our ongoing education in the heat pump industry we were able to take Steve Rysdale, Simon Oliver and Ian Scott from EDP Environmental to the Thermia factory in Sweden to see how the most advanced ground and air source heat pumps in the world are developed and manufactured. Included in the trip courtesy of Ashgrove Energy (Shane and Cormac Murphy) is a tour of the world famous heat pump museum show casing the development of heat pumps and how the industry started over 40 years.
As part of an ongoing partnership with the Fire Fighters Charity we have just completed the installation of 2 x Vaillant Ecotec 65kW system boilers using a low loss header and the latest cascade manager to optimise the boilers under part load conditions.
The system provides space heating to the rehabilitation centre and 500L indirect hot water cylinder.
